New Frontiers in 3D Printing at Johns Hopkins University

Join us on June 10th for a symposium built around the recent acquisition of a Connex3 Stratasys 3D printer by Johns Hopkins University. The goal of the symposium is to introduce the new printer and its capabilities and to showcase the broad spectrum of 3D printing applications in translational research and patient care.

Medical applications for 3D printing are expanding rapidly and are expected to revolutionize health care. Medical uses for 3D printing include: tissue and organ fabrication; creation of customized prosthetics, implants, and anatomical models; and pharmaceutical research regarding drug dosage forms, delivery, and discovery. On June 10th we will learn about 3D printing in reference to customization and personalization of medical products, drugs, and equipment; cost-effectiveness; increased productivity; the democratization of design and manufacturing; and enhanced collaboration.

This recent investment in 3D printing was made possible by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, and the Departments of Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering (BME).
